Do You Need to Consult a Doctor Before Buying a TENS Unit?

Before purchasing a TENS device, did you seek medical advice? For which conditions is professional guidance especially important? I’m wondering whether consultation is necessary for everyone or mainly for people with underlying health issues.

Before buying my TENS device, I did talk to my doctor, mostly because I have a history of back issues and wasn’t sure if it would interact with anything else I’m managing. Professional guidance is really important for people with heart conditions, implants like pacemakers, or neurological issues, because electrical stimulation can be risky in those cases. For generally healthy people, a quick check-in with a clinician before using a unit from tensmachines can still give you peace of mind.
