Thankyou for your interest in the Coffs Coast Business Women's Network

The network was formed in April 2004 by Trina Schaefer, to meet a variety of needs of both small business and corporate women in the Coffs Coast area.

The response was quite overwhelming and reinforced a need for women to network for a variety of reasons, not all commercial. Since 2004 our membership has grown, with some 60-80 women attending events each month. There are currently 1,000 on our data base and growing.

In mid 2008 we developed the Network in a different direction. We understood there are two reasons why women network ­ to mix socially with other interesting and supportive women and to do business/generate leads.
 
We had established that our point of difference is that we are intimate and welcoming. In fact in a recent survey, 89 per cent of members said they felt Œvery welcome¹ at our events.
 
We introduced one flat rate for events of $27.Guests can choose to pay $30 to attend and we will donate the extra $3 to Coffs Coast Autism Support Group.

A separate membership fee was scrapped. Attend once, you¹re given a simple form to complete and you become an active member.

We established a target to develop an email data base of 2000 women. By August that was at 1,000. Numbers to our events have increases and events have become more interesting, as fresh faces come along each month for others to meet.

So, what is BWN?

We are a group run by local business women (all volunteers). We hold a networking event once a month, usually on the first Thursday. Anyone is welcome to attend and we'd like to invite you along.

We have different presenters at our events who speak on topics of interest to small, medium and big business. We also offer opportunities for women to meet in a business setting - for breakfasts, dinners and sometimes casual drinks.
